Nicola is a fine example of horse mounted on a plank with wheels made in the 1930s by Furga, Italy's first toy factory established in 1872 in Canneto sull'Oglio (Mantua). In the early 1900s it specialised in papier-mache toys and started to produce various types of toy horses in addition to dolls.
